DUTIES:  This position will be responsible for managing multiple activities related to the Office’s recruitment of attorney and non-attorney employment opportunities to include conducting reference and background checks and position management, assisting with the facilitation of new employee onboarding/orientation to include conducting presentation of employee benefit programs and processing new hire paperwork to include E-verify, manages portions of HRIS to ensure the integrity of employee and position data in the HR database. Additionally, this position oversees all aspects of the OAG intern, extern and fellow programs and manages the COLVC training program. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Experienced HR professional with demonstrated knowledge of applicable human resource policies, principles and practices related to recruitment and selection; Ability to think out of the box and develop inventive/unique recruitment strategies; Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills; Adept at multi-tasking, facilitating process improvements and managing programs.  Excellent interpersonal and organization skills with the ability to provide quality customer service.  Ability to use discretion in managing confidential information and records.  Ability to anticipate and resolve problems.  Ability to analyze issues and recommend creative solutions; Ability to work in an organized manner with attention to detail, ensuring that all correspondence is handled timely and accurately; Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Suite. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Associate or higher degree in Human Resources; HR experience in federal, state or local government; Commonwealth of Virginia experience in HR systems and policies inclusive of PMIS and RMS; Knowledge of automated systems, including basic database management, concepts and applications; Experience using social media and non-traditional sourcing methods for recruitment; Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of staff and applicant using skills of persuasion and promotion.


SALARY:  This is a salaried, non-exempt position with full state benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.
