ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL

DUTIES:   This attorney will work as part of a team dedicated to prosecution of violations of child exploitation laws, the Virginia Computer Crimes Act, and identity theft statutes in state and federal courts across Virginia.  The position also assists in the enforcement of Virginia‚Äôs database breach notification law.  The attorney will be regularly required to speak to groups and interact with law enforcement, state prosecutors and technology related professionals on issues related to the Internet and computer crimes.  Located in Richmond, this position reports to the Chief of the Computer Crimes Section.  Some overnight travel will be required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Demonstrated ability to litigate in all courts, particularly criminal prosecutions.  Must have excellent written and oral communication skills as evidenced by writing samples and references. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two to three years of prosecutorial experience. Admittance to the Virginia Bar is required.

SALARY:  Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
