Executive Division

Executive level responsibility in the Office of the Attorney General is delegated by General Herring to his Chief Deputy Attorney General (“CDAG”) who is responsible for managing the delivery of quality, timely legal services to the Office’s state agency and state officer clients through supervision of the five legal divisions of the Office (headed by division Deputies), supervision of the Opinions Section, and supervision of the Transparency and Administrative Legal Compliance area. The CDAG also provides general oversight of the operational needs of the office (i.e., Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance, etc.) through supervision of the Director Administration. Additional executive responsibility is assigned to the Chief of Staff who, like the CDAG, reports directly to the Attorney General in the management of constituent outreach/relations, policy/legislative initiatives, and media relations. Together, the managers and directors of all of these areas constitute the Executive and Administration team of the Office of the Attorney General.
