Charities

The Virginia Solicitation of Contributions Law (VSOC) requires that prior to any solicitation, every charitable organization, which intends to solicit contributions in Virginia or have funds solicited on its behalf, file an initial registration statement with the Office of Charitable and Regulatory Programs (OCRP) within the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS).  OCRP is responsible for the administration of the VSOC law and handles complaints regarding charitable solicitations.   Registration with OCRP does not imply endorsement of a public solicitation for contributions.
