MEDICAID AND SOCIAL SERVICES SECTION
The Office of the Attorney General of Virginia is seeking a health-care attorney to serve as legal counsel to the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS), which administers the Virginia Medicaid Program. This attorney will provide a full range of legal services on health related matters involving Virginia's Medicaid program, including advice on contracts and procurement matters, advice on the Freedom of Information Act, review of regulations promulgated by the Department, compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, and review of legislation. The successful candidate will also be responsible for all aspects of litigation, including appearances in state and federal courts, on eligibility and provider reimbursement cases.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must be a member of the Virginia Bar, possess superior oral and written communication skills, and demonstrate excellent analytical and research abilities. Three or more years experience, including litigation relating to Medicaid or health-care matters, is preferred. Applicant should also possess maturity and sound judgment. Starting salary commensurate with experience.
